Sam is the short one, but enough about her...
Scott Mikel has been a resident of Clark County for 35 years. He spent 18 years as a small business owner and schoolteacher before coming to real estate. He has been a member of Prudential's President's Circle, the top 4% of agents nationwide, ReMax’s Big Fancy Circle (that's not what it's called, can't remember the name), the Broker/Owner of Scott Mikel & Associates, a LOCAL real estate company since 2006, has been awarded the Professionalism Award by fellow agents as well as the Golden Key Award two years in a row, He was chosen Realtor Of The Year in 2000, as well as serving as President of The Association of Realtors twice. In 2009, the Columbian’s Readers voted his as the Best Realtor in Clark County (out of 1600 Realtors).
He is active in his church including a men's service group. When he has a spare moment he enjoys building mission-style furniture, and additions to the house and yard and remodeling homes for others. Just go to “Who Are We” and you’ll find out much more.
None of this stuff is the reason why you should pick Scott to market your home or to help you find a new one. The most important reason to choose Scott is that when you do--you get Sam! Kind of like a "two-for-one deal."
Sam has been selling real estate in Clark County since 1977. Is that laziness or stability?! She is a Certified Residential Specialist, CRS, the highest designation awarded to sales associates in the residential sales field and held by only 4% of all Realtors in the Nation and a Certified Negotiations Expert (CNE), a NAR designation held by only 1% of Realtors nationwide. Anyone can put your house or the market, or let you in with their MLS keypad, but can your agent negotiate for you?
Always a top producer, she has been chosen three times by fellow agents for the MLS Professionalism Award (they retire your jersey after three times) and has taught classes in organization for new agents. (She tried to teach Scott, too, but to no avail-- he claims that a clean desk is a sign of a warped mind.)
She is on the Professional Standards Committee to hear grievances against Realtors from within CCAR or from the public and is a “go-to” person in the office and in the community.
Starting in 1990 she taught Scott everything she knew and then told him he was on his own!
He’s the one with the warped sense of humor, and figures that whenever you get too serious about anything, you take the adventure out of it.
Shopping for a house CAN be safe, easy and fun if your agent makes it that way! So between Scott and Sam, you get one fairly stable Realtor (which is more than… oh I can’t say that).
Sam is also very involved with the Clark County Newcomers club, and will help you get involved too. If you would like new friends, she will make sure you find them.
In her spare time (what spare time?) she makes bobbin lace (kinda like making macramé with spider webs...), walks and hikes and knits, and learns more and more about the computer (doesn’t cook so I have to). Yes, she belongs to Clark County’s Computer Club, too, VCPUG.
We believe we make a great team with equal amounts of enthusiasm, creativity, and experience to make your move a smooth one. You can find out more about us under the "Who Are We" and find out what our customers think at the Testimonials button on the left hand side of the page.
We both have a lot of experience, and neither one of us has a criminal record. Most people want a Realtor who is competent and honest, and can get their house sold but we also think a sense of humor and a positive attitude are necessary in this most stressful of times.
We have a wall full of credentials and a lot of satisfied customers. We have worked in the real estate business in Clark County for over 50 years between us. We still don’t know all the answers, but we usually know how to find out.
While other agents have come and gone, we have continued to provide solid, dependable advice and help to literally hundreds of families moving into (and out of) Clark County.
We know real estate. We try very hard to be there for you and to do the right thing at every turn. We also know there’s never a crowd on the leading edge – and we like that.
